So tonight I watched the Bucket List! My mom got it in the mail from Netflix. I was totally excited. I've seen it before, but it was a great movie. And therefor, I have decided to create my very own...BUCKET LIST.
For those of you who do not know..
A bucket list is a list of things you'd like to accomplish before you..well...Kick the bucket!
This shall be a big WORK IN PROGRESS..
but I've got a good start on it!
1. Write and publish a book
2. Successful career
3. Read 1000 memoirs
4. See all fifty states
5. Be a GREAT cook
6. Make my husband the happiest man in the world!
7. See Italy
8. Be happy with my body
9. Sky dive
10. Learn to drive a stick
11. Renew our vows
12. Own a home
13. Volunteer at a homeless shelter
14. Make a difference to someone, somewhere.
15. Swim in the Ocean.
16. Camp. I mean...REALLY CAMP..tents and all.
That's all for now. My eyes are heavy, and I'm overly tired.
Keep reading..I promise to get exciting one of these days!

Reading, Rings, and Romance
I did it! I began my book! And, it started out a little dull. But the more I read, the less I wanted to set it down! So I'm interested enough to keep reading, and THAT was my biggest concern. * As it always is when I purchase a book. I'm a very selective reader. This though, is intriguing..she has a like-able personality, unlike her father...IF you ask me..Which you did, because you are in fact, reading MY blog! :)
In better news, I have found the most beautiful ring. It will look gorgeous next to my wedding ring! I also found my husbands wedding band...well the one I am purchasing for him, because his was lost in transit. No, not really transit but it sounded good! It was lost in Afghanistan, which makes me sad. But I understand. Anyways, on to this ring I love. I have always disliked the fact that none of my jewelry matched my yellow gold wedding ring. I love my ring, but despise the fact that I have absolutely no jewelry to match it. This ring is composed of three bands; a white gold, a yellow gold and a rose gold band. It's exactly what I need! http://www.bradfordexchange.com/products/110485001_romantic-womens-ring.html
The site won't allow me to save the picture, or upload it, therefore I have included the link incase anyone is curious about this absolutely beautiful ring I admire! I will NOT post the link or picture of the ring I am purchasing for my husband, because I would like it to be an absolute surprise...and in the rare chance that he decides to read this, I DON'T WANT HIM SEEING IT!
Now on to the Romance part of this post! I have found this absolutely lovely gift for my husband. It shows him exactly why I love him, and it will be mailed out in a pretty little flat rate box tomorrow! I will not tell you what it is, because again...HE MAY READ THIS BEFORE HE RECEIVES IT! But if you're interested enough, check back in 2 weeks!
Now on to life..
My son and I spent the entire day playing! He is the most full of life five month old I have ever seen! He laughs at absolutely everything, and it keeps me sane! (Incase you have yet to notice, I overuse the !. It's a bad habit that I will probably never change!) Anyways, today I was overly sad and missing my husband. I felt like spending the day sulking and feeling bad for myself, but Jax has other plans. He woke me up by babbling away. Then I picked him up and he laughed and smiled for what felt like forever. We rolled around on his play mat, and watched a movie together. How could I possibly sulk and whine about my life, with such a happy, loving, carefree baby! My day turned out to be far happier then I expected.
Now I'm off to give him his bath, and his cereal, and snuggle him some more!
Check back later, I have something in the works!
Peace and Love

Point Proven...
I believe I began my first blog with a question asking if I'm a planner..or a procrastinator! Welp... I sure have procrastinated a lot in the last few days. The book I raced off to target to get... has sat next to my couch, untouched. Not because I don't want to read it...simply because..I haven't had time? No..no.. I can't even honestly say that. I've had plenty of time. Time I have just filled with doing less productive things.
Like what you ask? Well.. I'll tell you..
1. I watched the VMA's. Which I found to be not so entertaining.
I was lead to believe Eminem was hosting..not OPENING. My mistake!
Chelsea was funny, but not as funny as I expected.
And nothing overly exciting took place.
2.
Now, you may think coffee does not really...occupy time. Pssh. I recall the days when getting a cinnamon dolce latte merely meant throwing on my shoes, and arriving at Starbucks. Now that I am a mother..and a single one at that, (while my husband is deployed) coffee getting is now a..well, we'll call it a process. I can no longer wake up and have my morning coffee with no hassle. My son must first enjoy his cereal, and hos bottle. His cereal which will end up all over me and himself before we're half done. This is usual followed by a diaper explosion, and a change of clothes. If I'm lucky J will let me set him down long enough to get out of my pajamas and into something sloppy and unrepresentable. That's right. I gave up on looking pretty for a day of running around. Finally, I get my son into his car seat, down 3 flights of stairs, and into the car. By now he is screaming because he has spit out his bink, so I turn on the car, give him his bink, and we're off! - Yes, approximately two hours after I WANTED that coffee. Then I lug that heavy seat into Starbucks, get my coffee, and load it back into the car! And this is just the start of our day!
3. I even watched the Lions game yesterday.. Okay..okay. I won't lie. I watched the end of it. It was bullshit, and I don't even watch football. Seriously. The score ended up being 19-14. Bears winning. And when I say it was bullshit, I mean, check the news..it was a crappy review. Anywho, as soon as the game was over, I went out and bought a Lions jersey. Not because I love the Lions...Because I LOVE JERSEYS! And oh how adorable will my son and I look when he has his football jammies on, and I have my jersey one! Picture to follow...(If I don't procrastinate too long, that I forget!)
In brighter news, instead of reading that book I was dying to have, I did one thing productive!
My mother and I took my son to the cider mill. The bees were rampid and terrifying, however we had a blast! Cinnamon sugar donuts, apple cider, and adorable pictures!
My little man makes this ever so torturous deployment... just that much easier. If it were not for these days with him, I would be a total mess. YES DEAR HUSBAND, I could be MORE of a mess then I am now! I would be an emotional wreck! Yes... more of an emotional wreck then I am now!
However, days like this also make me miss him. See that empty spot next to us in those pictures... Daddy is supposed to be standing there. His "spot" is ever empty in all of our pictures, in all of our experiences, and I struggle with finding peace in that empty "spot".
Oh goodness, my son has just woken up with the scream of...well probably World War III in his diaper. I'm off to put on my battle suit and ....take down the ENEMY! ;)
Keep reading guys...I MAY EVEN START THAT BOOK!
Peace & Love.

Lets get this show on the road!
I've never done the blog thing before, but hey what else do I have to do with my time? I mean other then change diapers, clean the house, compose care packages and live life.
My name is Alyssa. I am the mommy to a precious baby boy, who is currently five months old (3 months adjusted age). Yes my peanut was a preemie. I am the wife to an infantry soldier in the army. I'm also a daughter, a sister, a friends, and a rambling maniac.
My husband has been deployed for four months, and I'm an unwilling participant. That's right.. I hate every moment of it.. Forget how proud we as the wives are..or how wonderful it is to be married to someone doing something great for his country..I'd just like my husband home. Stop judging me. Of course I'm proud. Of course I admire my husbands courage and hard work..but really.. I JUST WANT HIM HOME!
My son is what keeps me spinning..and tired, and crazy..and irritable! But I wouldn't change that for the world. He is the happiest, most adorable little boy, and truly I could not ask for a better baby. Unless World War Three has taken place in his diaper (which happens almost daily), he is smiling and babbling away! Being a mom is the most rewarding thing I have ever done.
I love to read, write, laugh and complain. I do all four quite well. Oh did I forget to mention shop? I've got a masters in shopping...That's right folks..most of you are spending four + years in college for degrees. I was BORN with mine!
I'm extremely opinionated about the things I feel most passionate about..but don't take offense. I think everyone has the right to have their own opinion, and the right to express it. I won't bite your head off for disagreeing with mine.
Now on to this little "Questions for your introduction blog" bullshit....enjoy!
Are you a planner or a procrastinator?
I like to plan things out, down to the tee. And then I procrastinate doing the things I planned.
Diet or regular (soda)?
Psssh. Diet..Are you joking? Not if it were the last drink on earth. No really..not even if I were in the desert.
What's your one "must have" for Fall?
People have fall must haves? I'm not that sophisticated.
What's your favorite fast food restaurant?
I truly do not have a favorite. Whichever heart attack in a bag looks most appealing at the time!
What is something you’d like civilians to understand about being a military family?
No, you don't understand what it's like to have your husband deployed. Really, you don't. It is NOTHING like when your husband works late, or he goes to Chicago for the weekend for business. Oh and you don't know how we do it? Well allow me to explain...my husband, the man I married "for better or worse.." is off in Afghanistan fighting a war. When I vowed better or worse, it was not closely followed by.."except if you deploy." If you don't know how I do it..you probably shouldn't be married..Because God forbid there is ever a draft and they take your husband..
...JUST SAYIN!
What is your favorite mistake?
When my husband and I were lovey-dovey, mushy gushy, high school sweethearts, we were driving one day and he asked for a kiss, so I took my unfocused little eyes off the road and kissed him. We then veered up the curve and right into someones mailbox! OOPS!
...Are you laughing at me? I WOULD BE!
What indulgence could you give up for a year?
Ha! Sorry hubby..but no, my answer here will NOT be shopping. I guess if I really had too, I would forfeit my lifelong pass to Starbucks. But oh how I'd miss me a Cinnamon Dolce Latte, or since it's fall.. a Pumpkin Spice Latte. Oh my goodness, I want one now, just thinking about it!Do you have kids?
I am a mommy to (what I consider) the sweetest, most handsome, perfect baby boy in the whole wide world! (come on guys what mom doesn't think such things of her babies?!) He was born 7 weeks early and was my little peanut baby! I cannot believe how quickly he has grown up. I'm getting mushy just thinking about it.. I think I better stop now!
Are you a sarcastic person?
Oh, you mean you couldn't tell? I'm sarcastic more often then not. And I promise you I am not being a bitch. It's just who I am...And no...that wasn't me being sarcastic. Really... people often confuse my sense of humor for me being a bitch.. It's rather sad.
What book are you reading?
I just bought "Dirty Sexy Politics" by Meghan McCain. Don't judge me. I'm about to be a little controversial.. I do not...I REPEAT..DO NOT LIKE MCCAIN. I didn't like him when he was running for president and I DON'T like him now. Hey everyones allowed to have an opinion. So back to the point. I saw Meghan on the Jane Vallez Mitchell show..Or whatever the hell that ladys name is..ya know, the one who comes on after Nancy Grace..Anyways.. I saw Meghan on a tv show..and I was attracted to her personality. I was turned off at her poor talk about President Obama.."I just don't like the man." However, I guess I'd be pretty bitter if he beat my dad out of the presidency too.
So tonight I plan to start reading that..and well we shall see..
Absolutely. Go for it! Who cares what anyone else thinks? MY God loves unconditionally. He doesn't care who you screwing' or who you married. No but seriously. I'm for it. Who has the right to judge who someone else can marry? If you don't like it, respectfully decline to attend the wedding folks!
Okay imaginary followers who I'm sure are just dying for my first post! I have answered the questions. And now I'm on a quest to begin this book..
Peace & Love <3
